Essential Oils For Men

For some men using essential oils might seem like something only women do. However essential oils are extremely versatile and can be used by people of any age and any gender. These three DIY recipes are created for men’s everyday personal care needs and will help to conquer even the most skeptical user!

Shaving Cream

Fortified with natural lubricants and essential oils, this shaving cream improves razor glide for a close, comfortable shave. The shaving cream will leave the skin smooth, healthy, and moisturized.

Ingredients;

  • ⅓ cup (75 grams) of shea butter

  • ⅓ cup (80 ml) coconut oil

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) Fractionated Coconut Oil

  • 5 drops Sandalwood oil

  • 5 drops Peppermint oil

  • 5 drops Melaleuca oil

Instructions:

  1. Place all the ingredients, except for the essential oils, in double boiler.

  2. Once melted, remove from the heat and let sit for three minutes.

  3. Add essential oils and stir until combined.

  4. Let shaving cream rest until hard. Tip: You can put it in the refrigerator to speed up the cooling process.

  5. Using a hand or stand mixer, whip shaving cream until light and fluffy.

  6. Place in container of choice

Aftershave Serum

Shaving may be essential, but razor bumps don’t have to be. This aftershave serum, enriched with calming doTERRA essential oils, will help to soothe the skin and make it look and feel smooth.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml  Fractionated Coconut Oil

  • 30ml rosewater (can be purchased at health food stores)

  • 3 drops Frankincense oil

  • 3 drops Lavender oil

  • 3 drops Tea Tree oil

  • 3 drops Palmarosa oil

  • 3 drops Myrrh oil

Instructions;

  1. Place Fractionated Coconut Oil and rosewater in a glass spray or pump bottle

  2. Add essential oils and shake

  3. To use, spray directly on skin on place two to three pumps in palms and rub on affected skin

Post Workout Rub

After a good workout session, it’s normal that your muscles and joints feel tired and even stiff. To ease the discomfort and get you up and running again, try this post workout rub:

Ingredients:

  • 30 ml carrier oil

  • 3 drops Marjoram oil

  • 2 drops Thyme oil

  • 4 drops Roman Chamomile oil

  • 4 drops Cypress oil

  • 3 drops Lemon oil

  • 2 drops Peppermint oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix everything and gently massage the mixture into your muscles and joints.
